Get ready for a trip down memory lane with Coolhaven as they play the music that blasted through clubs on Sunset Strip in the golden age of funk n’ jazz! With band members: Andy Ericson - Drums, Brendan Rothwell - Bass, Richard Harding - Sax, and Sheldon Zandboer - Keyboards.

Community mural painting with Alex Kwong. In this collaborative drop-in painting session, everyone is welcome to contribute to a large-scale mural that celebrates creativity, connection, and community. No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and imagination! All ages and skill levels welcome. Let’s paint something beautiful together!
At cSPACE Marda Loop, we also have over two dozen amazing arts and culture tenants. Each Saturday, we will be inviting them down to the market grounds to meet you and share what they do! This week, we are pleased to welcome CASA Mexico back to our tenant tent.
Casa Mexico’s vision is to provide the community with a vibrant space and platform that promotes programs and activities that generate awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the Mexican culture, the Latin American heritage, and the Spanish language. Casa Mexico is a vibrant platform for artists, creators, and entrepreneurs. Offerings: classes for kids/teens/adults, kids’ camps, team-building, workshops, meetups, exhibitions, performances.

Coming this Saturday, Aug 16th: free live music at cSPACE Marda Loop, courtesy of Sarina Builds!
From 10am-noon, Natalie Inga & Alex Klipper explore all aspects of what Folk Music can be. Both are active in several Calgary bands, ranging across genres from Funk & Soul to Roots & Bluegrass. They`re taking the Calgary scene by storm! As a duo, the two artists accentuate each other`s songwriting through fun instrumentation and harmonies. Alex & Natalie, wielding guitars, a banjo, and occasionally even a saxophone, are two of Calgary`s most thoughtful and silly songwriters and performers. Come and enjoy their artistry and humour onstage!
From noon-2pm, enjoy some Flamenco! Honey Sturdy is a British-born, Canadian-raised Flamenco dancer, guitarist, singer, songwriter, castanet player, percussionist, and flautist. Trained in Flamenco dance in Madrid, Granada and Seville, Spain, she`s performed at many venues and festivals locally, as well as worldwide, in places such as Edinburgh, Granada, Spain, and Bristol. She’ll be bringing the heat, so come and let the music move you!

The Alberta Craft Gallery is an extension of the Alberta Craft Council - a Provincial Arts Service Organization that develops, promotes, and advocates for Craft in Alberta. They do this by supporting contemporary and heritage crafts as significant art forms that contribute to Alberta’s culture, and are invested in developing a craft sector of creative, skilled, viable, and sustainable craftspeople, studios, businesses, and networks.
