The Long Way Home is a collection of some of her favorite stops along those journeys. Each photograph reflects a moment where she chose to slow down and stay awhile. The images carry a sense of history, nostalgia, and connection to the land.
This work speaks to the importance of the journey as much as the destination. It invites viewers to take their time, notice what is often overlooked, and find meaning in quiet, everyday places.
About the Artist:
Jennifer Gregoire was born and raised in Calgary, but it wasn’t until she moved to a small rural town that her perspective began to shift. Life slowed down, the sky felt bigger, and she found herself drawn to the quiet places in between.
Her work is rooted in time spent on the road. She explores backroads across Alberta, stopping whenever something catches her eye. An old truck, a weathered building, or a stretch of highway that feels unchanged. What began as a way to explore gradually became a way of seeing and understanding the landscape around her.
She often jokes that she is a professional road-tripper, but in many ways it’s true.
