Nourish is a reclamation of joy. Of nurturing curiosity, indulgence and play through images taken when Sarah’s soul was alight with wanderlust, while her heart found stillness during quiet moments at home, and while she delighted in the simple beauty of good things to eat. Nourish shares the story of healing after heartbreak, of remembering self after motherhood, and of taking the time to make something beautiful even — and especially — when the endeavor serves no other purpose than to feel a little bit of hope.
About the Artist:
Sarah Comber is a fine art, travel and food photographer based in Calgary. Drawn to photography as a way to create beauty from life‘s glorious chaos, Sarah’s meditative images balance rich contrast with soft colours, and integrate gentle light with feminine shapes. Sarah’s work evokes peace, sensuality and clarity. Her journey as a fine art photographer is tied to her journey as a mother. Photography is a way for Sarah to stay connected to the woman she was before her son, while also embracing the beautiful, raw and clarifying experience that is motherhood. Through her landscapes, portraits and still life images, Sarah uses her visual voice to inspire restless souls, put troubles at ease, and explore the connection between the feminine and nature.
