New Beginnings, an exhibition of original abstract paintings by Calgary based artist Suzanne Farman in her cSPACE debut. For this series, Farman was particularly influenced by bringing different views of visual objects or figures together resulting in a painting that appeared abstracted on the canvas surface.Themes of new beginnings are inspired by emotional experience. Images of distorted reality are used to make them expressive of Farman’s inner feelings and ideas. Farman uses intense colours along with highly textured, generous paint application. Farman hopes to evoke powerful emotions by creating harmony where colour has a life of its own: not everyone reacts the same way to the same colour.
