Why Greg Clark and Dr. Jessica Simon Believe in cSPACE: How Their $100K Match Can Double Your Impact

Every dollar donated in 2025 will be matched up to $100,000, thanks to Greg and Jess’s commitment to cSPACE’s future.

Greg Clark and Dr. Jessica Simon are passionate community builders and were the first to name a seat in the theatre at cSPACE Marda Loop as part of the Theatre Stars campaign. Greg is the past chair of the cSPACE board and has a long track record as a volunteer and community champion, and Jessica is a physician and leader in Calgary’s medical community

Greg and Jess have generously committed to match all donations in 2025 up to $100,000. This is a meaningful gift that presents donors with a remarkable opportunity to amplify their generosity and double their impact.

“When you show up at cSPACE, it could be a kids’ theatre group, a poetry reading, a visual arts display, a music performance, or a world-renowned concert pianist. It’s something different every time, and we need more of that in our city and in our world.

Our society is increasingly divided unfortunately, and places like cSPACE bring people together in a way that helps us get through challenging times. It makes us optimistic and we couldn’t be more proud of what cSPACE Marda Loop has become.”

They believe in cSPACE’s longevity, sustainability and future projects.

“Our dream is to have a version of cSPACE downtown and in all four quadrants of the city in the next 10 years. We want every Calgarian to have access to high-quality art space, theatre, and gallery space that is relevant to their community”

Through our cSPACE Marda Loop hub, Meanwhile Lease SPACEPILOT activations and future projects in the works with Firehall No. 1 and the Northwest Travellers building, it’s about making this model accessible to everyone in the city. Greg talks about the impact the King Edward School site has had on his family:

“Dating back to the building’s original use as a school, my dad was a student at King Edward. He attended junior high in the 1950s and lived just down the road. The building and the neighbourhood feel like home to my family.

Jess loves that cSPACE is accessible to all and how it brings people together from different ages and different communities.

We get a strong sense of community when we attend art happenings or visit the farmers and makers market. You can see creativity and community growing, from the families at the Montessori School to the kids in the theatre camp, to our neighbours at The Edward enjoying their retirement with art. That’s what our family hopes to make accessible for everyone in our city.”
