Endings bring new beginnings at cSPACE Marda Loop

After several years of collaboration, the Farmers & Makers Market has undertaken an opportunity to expand into two new locations this year. Unfortunately, this means they are saying goodbye to Market Saturdays at cSPACE Marda Loop this summer.

cSPACE wishes the Farmers & Makers Market and the Earth Market Society all the best for the future, as we are proud to have been an integral partner in their development. What started as a seedling of an idea to “feed communities and culture” has blossomed into one of the most popular inner-city farmers markets in Calgary. Be sure to check their website for hours and locations to continue to support your local growers and makers. 

The market vendors, performers and weekly visitors will all be greatly missed by cSPACE, our tenants and Marda Loop community. 

A place to grow

The many markets, outdoor concerts and community events that have occurred over the years are success stories that align with the community-building vision and mission of cSPACE Projects.

We are proud of the role that our creative hub in Marda Loop continues to play as an incubator for creative enterprise, arts and culture. With the support of cSPACE Projects, Market Saturdays energized our community, and provided amazing opportunities for a variety of creative boundary crossings. The hallways of our hub and Art Park at cSPACE became known as an all-ages, family-friendly place for neighbours to meet and socialize. The market provided opportunities for local artists to perform, and offered accessible arts & culture activities offered through community partnerships. 

Here’s to the future

Although we are disappointed Market Saturdays will not resume this May, we are eagerly exploring new directions for the future of placemaking at cSPACE Marda Loop. We invite you to have your say and participate in the next exciting adventures at our creative hub, coming soon.
