Meet the Market Coordinator

Kate isn’t your average facilitator; she’s a dynamic force driving community engagement at cSPACE Marda Loop. This summer, alongside her ongoing contributions as Event Staff Extraordinaire, Kate steps into a new role as the Market Coordinator for The Market at cSPACE Marda Loop—a fresh addition to the vibrant landscape of Art Park. Launching on May 25th from 10 am to 2 pm, this monthly market promises to be a hub of creativity, culture, and community.

With over 35 years of experience in the local arts and crafts market scene, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role. Graduating from the University of Calgary with degrees in Zoology and Psychology, her journey into creativity was unconventional, but deeply fulfilling. Photography and textiles became her early mediums of choice, enabling her to support the local theatre community while expressing her creativity.

A modern-day Renaissance woman, Kate is a master of many trades. Whether she’s behind a camera, wielding a paintbrush, or nurturing her garden, her enthusiasm for exploration knows no bounds. Her diverse skill set and unwavering curiosity fuel her continuous quest for self-expression and connection through various media.

Despite her busy schedule, Kate remains deeply committed to her family and personal pursuits. When she’s not immersed in the vibrant happenings at cSPACE, you’ll likely find her engaging in quality time with her teenage sons, collaborating on LEGO art with her husband, or enjoying the outdoors with her beloved cattle dog rescue.

As the Market Coordinator, Kate serves as the linchpin between cSPACE and its vendors, ensuring seamless coordination and a rich experience for all involved. She’ll be the face you’ll see bustling around on Market Days, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that visitors and vendors alike feel welcomed and supported.

With her wealth of experience in community engagement and her passion for cultivating spaces where people come together, Kate is perfectly suited to spearhead this exciting new venture. Her commitment to cSPACE’s mission of igniting collaboration and community-led change shines through in every aspect of her work, making her a true asset to both the organization and the community it serves.
