Enjoy a weekend of open studios, exhibitions, performances, and art demos.

Friday, Sep 29 – 10am to 8pm
From 11am-8pm tour the cSPACE Marda Loop building, popping into artist studios, learning about the arts and experiencing the creative energy of our arts hub.
3-5pm – free film screening – Studio Theatre
Experience the drama of Wolves Unleashed! A documentary about a Calgary wolf-rescuer and trainer who works with animals in the film and television industry. In cooperation with the Calgary Underground Film Festival.
6-9pm – Springboard Performance – Studio Theatre
Come out to honour and celebrate the Iinii, the buffalo that once were a part of this robust environment. Create beautiful lanterns to carry in procession, watch films, share in song, dance, and story, and celebrate the history of the buffalo of this land. Guided by Blackfoot Elder, Raymond Many Bears with additional stories by Troy Emery Twigg, and lantern-puppets from “Iinisikimm” a homecoming for the buffalo of Canada. Drumming by Anders Hunter of Eya Hey Nakoda. Build lanterns in free workshops and join the procession that will end in a round dance.
Saturday, Sep 28 – 10am to 8pm
Explore cSPACE Marda Loop at your own pace, wandering the halls of our vibrant new arts hub and popping into all the open studios to meet the artists and organizations who call cSPACE Marda Loop home. Or check out the full programming schedule to plan your trip around one of the many hands-on activities, artists demos, exhibitions or performances scheduled throughout the day.
Print a postcard at Feast Letterpress, try your hand at weaving and spinning, get to know the Alexandra Writers Centre, grab a bite at one of the food trucks or explore the Farmers Makers Market.
10am to 3:30pm – Splish, Splash! Take Shape!
Wet felting demo on the 2nd floor hallway outside the Alberta Craft Council.
10am to 5pm – Finding a Common Thread
Spinning and weaving demos by the Heritage Weavers and Spinners Guild.
11am – Kiddonauts Create a Story
Come help create a one-of-a-kind adventure inspired by your suggestions.
1pm and 3pm – Building Tours
Meet at the main South Entrance by the elevators and let an experienced guide take you through the artistic transformation of cSpace from a historic school to a creative arts incubator and innovative co-working space!
2pm to 2:30pm – Salsa Lesson!
The Palladium Nights are here to help you add sizzle to your steps! One quick salsa lesson will add spice to your nights!
