This event is in partnership with the Exposure Photography Festival.
Then & Now: 30 Years of Calgary Photography marks three decades of The Camera Store’s role in shaping Calgary’s photographic landscape. Featuring work by George Webber, Gerry Thomas, Greg Fulmes, Greg Gerla, Jason Stang, Jeff Bright, John Dean, Leah Hennel, Maja Swannie Jacob, Mark Vitaris, Matt and Harry Palmer, Mike Drew, Steve Speer, and Todd Korol, the exhibition pairs images side by side to explore time, change, and creative evolution. Sponsored by Sony Canada, with printing support from ABL, the official printer of the Exposure Photography Festival.
Alongside it, The Camera Store Staff Exhibition showcases the diverse perspectives of the photographers behind the counter. From personal projects to everyday discoveries, this collection highlights how technical skill and creative curiosity come together in expressive, image-driven storytelling. Featured artists include Amair Javaid (AJ), Ammar Khan, Annabeth Trondsen, Christopher Donovan, Dave Paul, Erfan Karimi, Ethan Yawney, Evelyn Drake, Jeff Yee, Kai Niccolls, May Shi, Nicole Parker, Peter Gold, Ron Bubnich, Russ Scullen, Stefan Legisa, and Yuqi Li. Sponsored by Canon Canada and printed by Canon’s Frame Lab.
My Life Through the Lens presents recent black-and-white work by Julian Ferreira. Rooted in Southern Alberta’s prairie landscape, these photographs reflect a quiet, attentive way of seeing, inviting viewers to slow down and notice the beauty of everyday moments.
The night also honours a lasting legacy with the Brian Henson Memorial Exhibition. Known for his meticulously crafted hand-printed photographs, Henson’s work will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the RESET Society of Calgary, supporting women survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
Together, these four exhibitions make for a dynamic and meaningful evening celebrating photography’s enduring impact.
