Lizzie Wharton is a recent graduate of Alberta Univeristy of the Arts in Graphic Design and Advertising. She is currently working at the Alberta Craft Council as a gallery assistant, and this is her first time showing her work in a public space.
Her paintings are inspired by Victorian field guides, and she focuses on mixing images of real-life specimens with her own tantasy creations inspired by playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends. Many of the pieces in this show are of real creatures, but some, even within series, are entirely fictional.
