Celebrating Emerging Artists at cSPACE: Sarina Homes Stage

This summer, from May to September, cSPACE Marda Loop provided an incredible platform for emerging artists to share their talents with the community.

Thanks to the generous support of Sarina Homes, we proudly renamed our Market Stage the Sarina Homes Stage—a space where local talent could shine.

A Diverse Lineup of Local Talent

Throughout the summer, we featured an exciting lineup of performers, including Alice Jane, a folk singer-songwriter whose acoustic guitar and soulful vocals brought a fresh take on folk legends like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Alice, who has become a regular at Calgary’s markets and festivals, shared her beautiful blend of smooth and raw folk sounds with audiences who embraced her music. We also welcomed a mix of talented artists like Prairie Soul Revue, Geoff McKenzie, Albertosaurus, Nico Brennan, and Tim Gareau, who each brought their unique style—from folk and blues to indie and soul—to the stage.

Memorable Highlights: Kirby Sewell & Four Winds Indigenous Performers

Two standout moments of the summer included powerhouse blues artist Kirby Sewell, whose commanding voice and electrifying stage presence left a lasting impression. Known for his soulful edge and dynamic storytelling, Kirby’s larger-than-life performance at cSPACE’s August beer garden was a highlight for many. We were also honoured to host the Four Winds Indigenous Fall Pop-Up Market, featuring talented Indigenous performers who brought a rich cultural experience to the Sarina Homes Stage, adding diversity and depth to our summer lineup.

Looking Ahead: Fostering the Next Generation of Talent

For these emerging and established artists, performing on the Sarina Homes Stage offered invaluable experience, exposure, and an opportunity to connect with new audiences. We’re incredibly grateful to Sarina Homes for their support, which made it possible for us to elevate local talent and create a dynamic, artist-driven environment at The Market this summer.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue this tradition and can’t wait to see more rising stars grace the Sarina Homes Stage in the years to come!
