Dana Schindelka is a Calgary based visual artist who uses mixed media to examine the relationship between recollection, reality, and imagination. Dana uses acrylic paint and other materials, such as metal substrates, collage, metallic leafing and inks to create his art and his works have been the subject of gallery representation, private, and business collections.
Danielle Bartlette was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she attended the School of Art (Fine Arts Honours Program at the University of Manitoba). In 2000, she moved to Calgary to further her experience as an artist and currently exhibits artwork for sale through local galleries. Her paintings are scattered in homes, private & corporate collections around Canada, USA, and Europe. Danielle started her own business, Neon Milkshake Art Studio, in 2016 and has been facilitating art classes since 2007.
Danielle says, “METAL Firecrackers and the Electric Bling is a selection of works created by two artists who have creative similarities and respect for one another’s practice. We are each exhibiting new and existing works. My work will exhibit selections from past series, as well as a number of works in a new series titled CORONARAMA (created 2020-2023) which reflects the mood, describes events and is an emotional response to the pandemic, at different times throughout the event. Dollar Store materials, thrift store finds juxtaposed with top quality artist materials and 24k gold on canvas/ wooden substrates are often found in the mix.”
Together, these two artists are showcasing works that will catch your eye with noisy prints and/or loud colours. Lean in close to see all the textures and detail.
