They will make simple and functional projects like pyjama pants\, and gift pouches ( to hold all the things)! This intro covers everything you need to know to get started.\n\n\nIntroduction to Wood Burning (Pyrography) for Beginners \nLearn something new and have fun during this hands on workshop. This small class is perfect for those who are new to wood burning and want to explore the art of pyrography. This is also a good opportunity to try the Razer Tip Woodburning tool before you buy one. You will learn step by step how to create a wood burned work of art. Little art experience is necessary just some time and patience. There is something very soothing and relaxing about burning patterns into wood. You will learn how to use the wood-burner safely. We will go over the difference between the wood burning tools that are available. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto the wood\, which wood works best\, and how to add a bit of colour. Wood is supplied and the tool that we use is the Razer Tip woodburning system. Feel free to bring your own reference material to trace or draw from or use templates provided. Some people freehand and just go for it and some people use reference material and trace their design. You can also do a bit of both:) Magically everyone does something totally different and unique to them! It’s a fun thing to do for a date night or a new activity with friends or family. Learn how to take proper measurements\, adjust patterns\, cut\, and sew a muslin to create a proper pattern. This class teaches you the foundational rules and language to begin creating your own custom patterns\, and the skills to adjust and fit patterns to fit you! \nThis course is five 3-hour sessions. DESCRIPTION:cSPACE Marda Loop\nGallery Level 2\nThe Month of April – HELD OVER \n\nMotto:  \nThere is a crack\, a crack in everything. \nThat’s how the light gets in. \n(Leonard Cohen\, Anthem) \n\nA collection of B&W photographs that explores the power of the sun light and its interaction with our daily living. The photographs will take the viewer through the same apartment at different times of the day\, from waking to night. The images let you discover new interesting details of the living spaces that may be otherwise forgotten. \n\nArtist’s Statement – Tony Settari\nTony Settari\, born and trained in the Czech Republic\, developed an early passion for art and music alongside a career in engineering. After moving to Calgary in 1969\, he was inspired by an Ansel Adams retrospective\, which ignited his interest in large-format photography. While his professional career in academia and consulting limited his artistic pursuits for some time\, retirement allowed him to fully return to photography. Today\, his work blends traditional analog techniques with digital processes\, focusing primarily on black-and-white imagery that emphasizes simplicity and minimal reliance on technology.

The photographs will take the viewer through the same apartment at different times of the day\, from waking to night. The images let you discover new interesting details of the living spaces that may be otherwise forgotten. \n\nArtist’s Statement – Tony Settari\nTony Settari\, born and trained in the Czech Republic\, developed an early passion for art and music alongside a career in engineering. After moving to Calgary in 1969\, he was inspired by an Ansel Adams retrospective\, which ignited his interest in large-format photography. While his professional career in academia and consulting limited his artistic pursuits for some time\, retirement allowed him to fully return to photography. Today\, his work blends traditional analog techniques with digital processes\, focusing primarily on black-and-white imagery that emphasizes simplicity and minimal reliance on technology.

This intro covers everything you need to know to get started.\n\n\nIntroduction to Wood Burning (Pyrography) for Beginners \nLearn something new and have fun during this hands on workshop. This small class is perfect for those who are new to wood burning and want to explore the art of pyrography. This is also a good opportunity to try the Razer Tip Woodburning tool before you buy one. You will learn step by step how to create a wood burned work of art. Little art experience is necessary just some time and patience. There is something very soothing and relaxing about burning patterns into wood. You will learn how to use the wood-burner safely. We will go over the difference between the wood burning tools that are available. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto the wood\, which wood works best\, and how to add a bit of colour. Wood is supplied and the tool that we use is the Razer Tip woodburning system. Feel free to bring your own reference material to trace or draw from or use templates provided. Some people freehand and just go for it and some people use reference material and trace their design. You can also do a bit of both:) Magically everyone does something totally different and unique to them! It’s a fun thing to do for a date night or a new activity with friends or family.
