SUMMARY:Riyoko Work/Shop hosts an Open Studio
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Open Studio! \nNeed a bit more room to spread out your projects? Or just want company? Come work on your patternmaking and sewing projects in the beautiful Riyoko Work/Shop studio for an afternoon. Maybe you have projects that you have questions on? Get to know other participants and chat sewing and construction! Bring a couple friends and a have a little fun getting creative! \nThis course is one 5-hour session. The next session is: \nSaturday April 6 – 10 am to 3 pm \nand/or \nSaturday May 4 – 10 am to 3 pm \n$15/ session \n* We do have four sewing machines to rent ($10/ session). They must be reserved ahead of time. Please note the rental request \n* Please bring your own supplies\, and if machines are not available\, please bring your own. \n* We will also be in studio to answer simple questions and offer advice. \n* Book in for 5 hours\, but come whenever you want in that time.

SUMMARY:Sewing 101 with Riyoko Work/Shop
DESCRIPTION:Come learn how to sew\, and start making your own projects! Join us in the spacious and inspiring new Riyoko Work/Shop and learn the fundamental beginner skills to get on your way to exploring and creating! In this class\, students will learn their way around the machine through various projects and gain the foundational sewing skills to translate into future projects for themselves. Students will learn how to read patterns\, and how to choose fabrics and patterns right for the projects they are making. They will make a lined gift bag\, pyjama pants\, and learn how to hem pants\, and sew zippers. The skills of sewing can seem daunting\, but with the right instruction\, it can be fun and sew much easier than you think! \nThis course is three 3-hour sessions. The next sessions is: \nApril 22\, 29 & May 6 – 6 pm to 9 pm \n*No prior sewing skills are needed for this class. This class is for adults\, if you have a teen that is interested\, please let us know\, and we will let you know when a teen class will be available. \n*Class fees include most all supplies except fabric scissors and pj pant material\, and students are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines. \n*Don’t have a sewing machine? No problem! Just let us know and we can have one ready for you. Sewing machine rentals are $10/ per class \n*We are dedicated to providing a safe\, spacious and clean environment for the students to work in. We sanitize high touch surfaces and shared tools before each class.

Come join us in the bright & spacious riyoko studio to learn how to make a pattern\, sew a test fit\, and learn skills to remake the piece you want to wear time after time. \nThis class is five 3-hour sessions. The next sessions are: \nSaturday May 11\, 18\, 25 & June 1\, 8 – 10 am to 1 pm \n*Beginner sewing experience necessary. \n*Students will be asked to bring up to three simple pieces that they’d like to remake\, such as button up shirts\, blouses\, sweaters\, slip dresses\, pants or shorts (No zippers!). \n*Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies (pencil\, eraser\, pins\, measuring tape\, fabric scissors\, paper scissors) except rulers (which are available for class use\, or purchase in the Riyoko Work/Shop during the class) and paper which is supplied by Riyoko Work/Shop. \n*We believe in supporting small\, and local.
