This intro covers everything you need to know to get started.\n\n\nIntroduction to Wood Burning (Pyrography) for Beginners \nLearn something new and have fun during this hands on workshop. This small class is perfect for those who are new to wood burning and want to explore the art of pyrography. This is also a good opportunity to try the Razer Tip Woodburning tool before you buy one. You will learn step by step how to create a wood burned work of art. Little art experience is necessary just some time and patience. There is something very soothing and relaxing about burning patterns into wood. You will learn how to use the wood-burner safely. We will go over the difference between the wood burning tools that are available. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto the wood\, which wood works best\, and how to add a bit of colour. Wood is supplied and the tool that we use is the Razer Tip woodburning system. Feel free to bring your own reference material to trace or draw from or use templates provided. Some people freehand and just go for it and some people use reference material and trace their design. You can also do a bit of both:) Magically everyone does something totally different and unique to them! It’s a fun thing to do for a date night or a new activity with friends or family. There are only 4 people maximum in a class\, ages 12 and up. Artists spent several days and nights exploring the lakes\, trails\, wildlife and spectacular views in Glacier National Park as part of the Art in the Park residency. \nPresented in partnership with Parks Canada and the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre\, this unique artist residency program has brought creators into Glacier National Park’s breathtaking Rogers Pass since 2008. The result is a powerful collection of work that captures the majesty\, solitude\, and spirit of the Selkirk Mountains. \nThese artists were granted rare access to explore the park’s lakes\, trails\, and wildlife—living\, hiking\, and creating in one of Canada’s most rugged and spectacular environments. DESCRIPTION:Finding Peace & Joy Within\nThis weekly meditation group for CALL members has returned by popular request. Each session includes periods of meditation (sitting comfortably in chairs) to allow participants the opportunity to experience the benefits for themselves\, and the opportunity to share experiences and insights with others. About half of the session will be talk/discussion and about half will be meditation. \nIf you are not a CALL member\, you can join for the annual fee of $50 and attend this and many other interest groups.
