DESCRIPTION:This session will look at systems and structures of governing a non-profit arts organization and tools needed to support good governance.\n\n\nAs part of the Rozsa Foundations’ ongoing commitment to supporting Alberta arts leaders\, this Intersections session (part of the Rozsa Foundations of Arts Leadership program) is being made available to arts leaders outside of the program. \nDESCRIPTION\nThis session will look at the systems and structures of governing a non-profit arts organization and what tools are needed to support good governance practices. The session will provide participants with the opportunity to explore their own organization and the role of strategy\, policies\, managing a board\, and the art of a good board meeting agenda. \nKEY LEARNING OUTCOMES\nBy the end of the session\, participants will be able to: \n\nArticulate what is at the foundation of good governance practice\nClarify the roles and responsibilities of Board members\, and the relationship to Management\nRecognize different governance models\nIdentify tools to support good governance practice within their organization\nDetermine tactics for managing the Board/Executive relationship\n\nThe session is 4.5 hours long\, with a 30 minute lunch break. While some snacks will be provided\, it is recommended that you bring a lunch as the food vendors in the building are busy at lunchtime. \nPlease Note: Deadline to apply is January 14\, 2026

What changes do you need to truly thrive? \nPerhaps it’s a glimpse into what your Animal Island Utopia might look like. \nIn this workshop\, we guide you through a series of fun art-making exercises designed to gain insight into different aspects of your life — work\, health\, connection and aspirations — and unlock what’s needed to improve and find a better balance between them. \n  \nWhat is a CreativiTEA? \nCreativiTEA is an in-person workshop series for grown-ups created by Tilted Windmills that combines fun\, insightful art-making activities with community-building through creativity. \nEach two-hour CreativiTEA session includes: \n\nA guided creative activity with all art supplies provided\nSocializing and discussion with tea and delicious goodies—also provided\n\n  \nWhat you don’t need to bring to CreativiTEA? \nAny concerns about your perceived “artistic ability” or level of “talent”! DESCRIPTION:Punchline presented by Springboard Performance & Inside Out Theatre\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nStudio Theatre\nJanuary 31 | 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM\nFebruary 1 | 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM \n  \nPunch Line\, the new solo work by Jacques Poulin-Denis\, combines the kitschy energy of a one man show with the depth and intimacy of a confession. \nBy means of stories and anecdotes peppered with refreshing irony\, shrewdness and sweet madness\, he confides to the audience as intimate friends. From that spirited monologue characters emerge\, embodying multiple beings\, our numerous inner avatars as well as the strategies\, sometimes absurd\, that we adopt to hold our contradictions together. Threading his way along the fine line between reality and fiction\, he transforms inner discourses into a sensory experience that is both subtle and intense. He is a presenter of words\, thoughts and gestures. \nPunch Line is a series of confidences\, words made flesh\, where Jacques Poulin-Denis evokes diverse themes such as resilience and how we relate to ourselves and to others. By giving voice to his body he is also expanding the spectrum of the characters he portrays. \nPunch Line is\, of course\, the punch line of a gag. With their short format\, the jokes can in a very few words create a context that the audience subscribes to\, accepting any situation\, no matter how unreal. The title is a salute to the imagination of the artist and the spectator\, to their abilities and their need to believe in fiction\, to disguise reality and thereby make it more acceptable. \n  \nTickets and Information: Showpass \n
