What changes do you need to truly thrive? \nPerhaps it’s a glimpse into what your Animal Island Utopia might look like. \nIn this workshop\, we guide you through a series of fun art-making exercises designed to gain insight into different aspects of your life — work\, health\, connection and aspirations — and unlock what’s needed to improve and find a better balance between them. \n  \nWhat is a CreativiTEA? \nCreativiTEA is an in-person workshop series for grown-ups created by Tilted Windmills that combines fun\, insightful art-making activities with community-building through creativity. \nEach two-hour CreativiTEA session includes: \n\nA guided creative activity with all art supplies provided\nSocializing and discussion with tea and delicious goodies—also provided\n\n  \nWhat you don’t need to bring to CreativiTEA? \nAny concerns about your perceived “artistic ability” or level of “talent”! DESCRIPTION:This session will look at systems and structures of governing a non-profit arts organization and tools needed to support good governance.\n\n\nAs part of the Rozsa Foundations’ ongoing commitment to supporting Alberta arts leaders\, this Intersections session (part of the Rozsa Foundations of Arts Leadership program) is being made available to arts leaders outside of the program. \nDESCRIPTION\nThis session will look at the systems and structures of governing a non-profit arts organization and what tools are needed to support good governance practices. The session will provide participants with the opportunity to explore their own organization and the role of strategy\, policies\, managing a board\, and the art of a good board meeting agenda. \nKEY LEARNING OUTCOMES\nBy the end of the session\, participants will be able to: \n\nArticulate what is at the foundation of good governance practice\nClarify the roles and responsibilities of Board members\, and the relationship to Management\nRecognize different governance models\nIdentify tools to support good governance practice within their organization\nDetermine tactics for managing the Board/Executive relationship\n\nThe session is 4.5 hours long\, with a 30 minute lunch break. While some snacks will be provided\, it is recommended that you bring a lunch as the food vendors in the building are busy at lunchtime. \nPlease Note: Deadline to apply is January 14\, 2026

Materials included!\n\n\nMake your own set of beautiful wooden ornaments! \nLearn something new and have fun during this hands on workshop. This small class is perfect for those who are new to wood burning and want to explore the art of pyrography. This is also a good opportunity to try the Razer Tip Woodburning tool before you buy one. You will learn step by step how to create a wood burned work of art. Little art experience is necessary just some time and patience. There is something very soothing and relaxing about burning patterns into wood. You will learn how to use the wood-burner safely. We will go over the difference between the wood burning tools that are available. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto the wood slices. You will create a set of five pine slice ornaments. Wood is supplied and the tool that we use is the Razer Tip woodburning system. Feel free to bring your own reference material to trace or draw from or use many templates provided. Some people freehand and just go for it and some people use reference material and trace their design. You can also do a bit of both:) Magically everyone does something totally different and unique to them! It’s a fun thing to do for a date night or a new activity with friends or family. You will be printing your own beautiful linen holiday stocking. \nAbout the artist: Natalie Gerber began her studies in 1995 at The Natal Technikon\, in the Fashion Design program\, Durban (South Africa). After immigrating to Canada her interests in textiles and design developed while studying at The Alberta University of the Arts\, formerly known as Alberta College of Art + Design. Natalie earned a BFA Degree (with Distinction) in Fibre/Textiles in 2003\, and later in 2007\, a post-graduate Certificate in Creative Pattern Cutting for the Fashion Industry\, from the London College of Fashion in London (England). \nHaving recently completed a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Craft from the Alberta University of the Arts\, Natalie is currently engaged in a comprehensive exploration of the boundaries and potentialities of textile forms. His parents were artistic and his mother was a professional dress designer. His father focused on silver smithing\, ceramics and sculpting and his maternal grandmother was a landscape artist. \nJan immigrated to Canada in the late 60’s and for more than 35 years worked as a printer at the Calgary Herald newspaper. He has had a passion for art most of his life which influenced his children to take art degrees. \nJan pays attention to detail which is evident in his art. His drawings have intricate detail with repetitive patterns. His subject matter is surreal and imaginative. Jan is passionate about art and has devoted his entire life to creating his one of a kind masterpieces. \n

DESCRIPTION:Floral Workshop with Alliance Française and Flowers by Janie\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nAlliance Française (Level 3)\nDecember 3\, 2025\n6:30 PM – 8:30 PM \nOn Wednesday\, December 3rd\, at 6:30 p.m.\, join us for a unique floral evening and learn to create a luxurious\, fragrant winter wreath. \nThe price includes pre-cut assorted greenery (6+ varieties)\, pine cones\, bunny tail grass\, dried florals and/or berries\, a spool of paddle wire\, a metal wreath frame\, and a gorgeous silk velvet ribbon. The metal wreath frame has a diameter of 16 inches\, and once the greenery is added\, the finished wreath will measure approximately 20–22 inches. \nThis workshop will be led in French by Janelle Gerestein\, an experienced florist and owner of Flowers by Janie\, with over 24 years in the industry.
