SUMMARY:Between Two Worlds: An Evening of Mediumship with Andy Byng
DESCRIPTION:Andy will be delivering messages of love and encouragement from your friends and loved ones in the Spirit World\n\nWorld renowned medium Andy Byng\, who was also featured on Netflix’s Surviving Death\, will be touring Canada during 2023 and 2024. Known for his level of detail and accuracy\, Andy will be delivering messages of love and encouragement from your loved ones in the Spirit World.\n\n\nA B O U T  A N D Y \nAndy’s greatest passion has always been to publicly demonstrate his mediumship\, and to teach others how to develop their own gifts. \nAlthough Andy had been aware of the spirit world from a young age\, he did not begin to develop his mediumship until he was eighteen-years-old. Andy completed most of his mediumistic development at the world-renowned Arthur Findlay College\, where he is now a tutor and course organiser. \nAlthough Andy originally hails from Birmingham (UK)\, his work as a Evidential Medium takes him across the world\, and he currently resides in Toronto\, Canada. Andy’s passion and dedication to the spirit world is clear: He works tirelessly to reunite people with their loved ones\, and to teach others how to develop their own mediumship. \nAndy is now embarking on a tour of Canada to take his renowned mediumship across the country\, reuniting people with the loved ones through his accurate and heartfelt mediumship. \nT H E  E V E N T \nDuring the evening\, Andy will become aware of your loved ones in the Spirit World\, and through the use of factual pieces of information\, it is his job to tell the story of how your loved ones lived and expressed themselves during their physical lives. \nAt its best\, mediumship has the potential to change lives\, by opening our minds to the reality that when the physical bodily experiences the process we called death\, the mind – or soul – which constitutes our personality\, self-consciousness\, intelligence and reason\, survive. Mediumship demonstrates to us that although not physically present in our lives anymore\, our friends and loved ones who have passed away are still with us\, and continue to have a loving and encouraging presence within our lives. \nIf you have never been to an Evening of Mediumship before\, there is nothing untoward or mysterious that will happen. To get an idea of what the evening will be like\, please check out the video above of Andy demonstrating his mediumship.

SUMMARY:"The Dirty Old Indian" MY CANADIAN HERO
DESCRIPTION:One hand clapping often sounds like Truth & Reconciliation. That is\, repeating recognized history but saying little about reconciliation. \nNow\, you can hear the other hand clapping at the cSPACE Marda Loop Studio Theatre\, September 26. \nTom Sindlinger\, International Economist and Former Member of the ALBERTA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY\, will be telling the story of “The Dirty Old Indian” MY CANADIAN HERO. \nMike Mountain Horse was a commendable and courageous Canadian soldier who fought at Vimy Ridge. He was wounded at three different battles and another time buried four days from a shell explosion. In civilian life he was elected a chief of the Kainai and also the president of a railway labour union — an astonishing combination. A stimulating and thought-provoking story. \n\n“A standing ovation at The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs” \n“Amazing and inspiring story. I am thankful that I read it.” \n” I really really like it. It’s a cool story.” [Indigenous welder at Fort McMurray}

SUMMARY:Puzzle Theatre - Disposable (In person or Online)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the finale of the 2023 Festival of Ideas exploration of materials\, at Puzzle Theatre’s unique performance\, Disposable!\n\n\nPuzzle Theatre – Disposable\nAn object theatre performance with unusual puppets from an unusual material! \nDate: Saturday\, November 25\, 2023 \nTime: 19:00 HRS MST. Duration 1 hour followed by Artists Talk and Discussion \nWe are using a 24 hour clock. To find the time in your your time zone check https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html \nLocation: cSPACE (1721 29 Avenue Southwest\, Calgary\, AB T2T 6T7) or online streaming \nMontreal’s Puzzle Theatre’s exploration of materials connects well to our festival theme of Material Puppets. Following the show will be an artist’s talk back\, audience discussion and conclusions on the questions we asked during the festival. \nDisposable features nameless\, faceless beings who emerge from a box of tissues to begin a journey. It is a journey through a life marked by first encounters: surprise\, fear\, anger\, the inexplicable\, the other\, oneself… They explore the possibilities and push the limits with candor and amazement. Where will this journey take them? One thing is certain: you’ll never see handkerchiefs in the same way again… \n“Puzzle Theatre has a unique style by combining various types in the traditional and the contemporary: drama theatre\, object and puppet theatre. The company distinguishes itself by the coloured amalgam of styles and the great diversity of means of expression that it proposes\, leaving the audience the freedom to interpret the unmentioned\, to freely associate ideas and allow it to feel what is not explicitly told.” \nAge: While this show is appropriate for younger viewers\, it is part of our Festival of Ideas\, exploring puppet power in concepts of an adult level. We recommend ages 10+. \nAccessibility: We are committed to the purposeful inclusion of all people. We strive to reduce barriers and we value everyone’s participation in our programs. If you identify a challenge to you\, or others attending\, please contact us – we recognize our limitations as a small organization. \nLocation: cSPACE offers free parking\, cycling racks\, convenient access to public transit\, and is located along bus routes 6\, 7\, 107\, 13. The theatre is an accessible space\, enter from parking lot on the north side of the building. There is an audience listening assist system. The show has minimal words. \nIf\, for any reason\, the Zoom meeting link provided to you experiences technical issues\, we will immediately send you an alternative link via email (or Eventbrite). This link will connect you to the event hosted on Google Meet\, another reliable and user-friendly video conferencing platform. \nThis event is part of the 2023 Festival of Ideas – an annual conference\, produced by W.P. Puppet Theatre Society. It explores the theory and practice of how puppet power promotes and impacts positive social change. In 2023 we ask\, how can puppets\, ‘metaphors of matter’\, help us address our material world?
