DESCRIPTION:Join us for the finale of the 2023 Festival of Ideas exploration of materials\, at Puzzle Theatre’s unique performance\, Disposable!\n\n\nPuzzle Theatre – Disposable\nAn object theatre performance with unusual puppets from an unusual material! \nDate: Saturday\, November 25\, 2023  \nTime: 19:00 HRS MST. Duration 1 hour followed by Artists Talk and Discussion \nWe are using a 24 hour clock. Following the show will be an artist’s talk back\, audience discussion and conclusions on the questions we asked during the festival.  \nDisposable features nameless\, faceless beings who emerge from a box of tissues to begin a journey. It is a journey through a life marked by first encounters: surprise\, fear\, anger\, the inexplicable\, the other\, oneself… They explore the possibilities and push the limits with candor and amazement. Where will this journey take them?  One thing is certain: you’ll never see handkerchiefs in the same way again… \n“Puzzle Theatre has a unique style by combining various types in the traditional and the contemporary: drama theatre\, object and puppet theatre. The company distinguishes itself by the coloured amalgam of styles and the great diversity of means of expression that it proposes\, leaving the audience the freedom to interpret the unmentioned\, to freely associate ideas and allow it to feel what is not explicitly told.”  \nAge: While this show is appropriate for younger viewers\, it is part of our Festival of Ideas\, exploring puppet power in concepts of an adult level. We recommend ages 10+. \nAccessibility: We are committed to the purposeful inclusion of all people. We strive to reduce barriers and we value everyone’s participation in our programs. If you identify a challenge to you\, or others attending\, please contact us – we recognize our limitations as a small organization. \nLocation: cSPACE offers free parking\, cycling racks\, convenient access to public transit\, and is located along bus routes 6\, 7\, 107\, 13. The theatre is an accessible space\, enter from parking lot on the north side of the building. There is an audience listening assist system. The show has minimal words.  \nIf\, for any reason\, the Zoom meeting link provided to you experiences technical issues\, we will immediately send you an alternative link via email (or Eventbrite). This link will connect you to the event hosted on Google Meet\, another reliable and user-friendly video conferencing platform. \nThis event is part of the 2023 Festival of Ideas – an annual conference\, produced by W.P. Puppet Theatre Society. It explores the theory and practice of how puppet power promotes and impacts positive social change. In 2023 we ask\, how can puppets\, ‘metaphors of matter’\, help us address our material world?
