SUMMARY:The Instrumental Society of Calgary presents Kintsugi
DESCRIPTION:A Perfect Mother’s Day Gift. \nFEATURING: Diana Cohen (violin)\, Jesse Morrison (viola)\, Josue Valdepenas (cello)\, Roman Rabinovich (piano) \nKintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold – and rather than hiding the damage\, kintsugi celebrates all the cracks or ‘scars’ for that they represent. American composer Salina Fisher’s piece Kintsugi opens this uniquely curated program that explores everything tonal and atonal\, familiar and fresh\, perfectly pieced together in a blend of musical tradition\, innovation\, and history.
