Spend an hour of informal conversation\, exploring ideas around puppetry and materialism – from those who have everything to those who have nothing\, our obsession with stuff\, and material metaphors. \nIntermissions from Iowa will be ‘Zoom hosted’ by Amanda Petefish-Schrag.  Amanda Petefish-Schrag is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Iowa State University. Her professional credits include work as a puppeteer\, playwright\, director\, (and mom). In her teaching and performance work\, she strives to cultivate community-centered theatre practices – re-imagining what theatre is and who it is for. Her puppetry research and practice focuses on puppetry’s social-ethical function within communities\, particularly as it relates to humans\, ecology\, and the environment.  Her playwriting work has been produced at theaters and festivals throughout the United the States as well as in the UK\, Canada\, and Ecuador. Amanda is a member of the Dramatists Guild\, the International Union of Marionette Artists\, the Puppeteers or America\, and is a past recipient of the Kennedy Center National Teaching Artist Grant\, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education Innovative Teaching Award\, and the Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Higher Education. \nTopic: To be announced \nGuests: To be announced  \nTime: Saturday\, November 25th at 16:00 HRS MST \nWe are using a 24 hour clock. DESCRIPTION:Join Tea as she discusses the stories hidden within objects.\n\n\nImagine a day in your life when you need to suddenly leave your home forever and you can only pack one suitcase. What will you take? Lots of objects have a practical value\, but some of them carry stories about precious moments of our past. With these objects we can recreate the feeling of home wherever we go. \nZooming in from Slovania\, Tea Kovše will share her research of personal objects in an eldery home\, because the elderly have very strong experiences of losing and recreating their home. After completing MA Dramaturgy at the Academy of theatre\, radio\, film and television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana\, Slovenia\, she co-founded Gledališče DELA (Theatre WORKS) – www.zraven.si – a performative theatre based on puppetry\, movement and music. The theatre’s performances focus on social relations and phenomenons such as: boredom\, burnout\, mindset and stigma. She developed the puppet movement method Puppet Parkour where she examines the relationship between puppet movement and public space. During the “corona time 2020” she created the Miniature Puppet Theatre MOŽ! – www.mozi.space – in which she is researching topics of isolation and mental illness. In the year 2022 she co-founded\, with Yves Brägger\, a puppet theater named Teater Štrik / Theater Strick (www.strick.page) in Klagenfurt and joined The Red Noses company Austria.
