The exhibition invites visitors to experience thoughtful and compelling works that capture the curiosity\, reflection\, and growth of emerging young artists. \nOpening reception on April 2 from 5:30–7:30 PM in the RGO Treehouse. \n\n \n

Every “course” explores her favourite flavours and how they have shaped her. These paintings act as a visual pairing\, crafted to evoke a sensory experience that is deeply personal\, yet universal.\n\n‘A Tasting Menu’ is not just a collection of artworks—it’s an intimate invitation to join her for dinner.

From quiet\, expansive landscapes to subtle moments of light and form\, his work is shaped by an ongoing dialogue between place\, presence\, and perception.  \nWorking primarily as a fine art black-and-white photographer and co-owner of The Camera Store\, Ferreira’s exhibition presents a selection of his most recent work. These photographs offer viewers an intimate glimpse into the way he sees\, thoughtful\, deliberate\, and deeply connected to the land he calls home\, inviting them to slow down and engage with the subtle beauty found in everyday surroundings. \n\nLEVEL 2: Brian Henson Memorial Exhibition\nBrian Henson was a highly regarded fine art photographer based in Calgary\, known for his dedication to traditional photographic processes and his striking hand-printed black-and-white work. He was also a longtime friend of The Camera Store and a valued presence within Calgary’s photographic community. Brian passed away in 2022\, leaving behind a meaningful and enduring legacy of meticulously crafted\, hand-printed and framed photographs that reflect both his artistic vision and his commitment to the medium.  \nIn accordance with the wishes of his estate\, Brian’s work will be offered for sale\, with all proceeds donated to the RESET Society of Calgary. RESET provides a comprehensive and compassionate system of support services in Alberta\, specifically designed to assist women who are survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Through this initiative\, Brian’s art continues to make a lasting impact\, honouring his legacy while supporting an organization dedicated to healing\, empowerment\, and positive change. \n\nLEVEL 3: Then & Now 30 Years of Calgary Photography\nIn celebration of 30 years within Calgary’s photography community\, The Camera Store is proud to present a special group exhibition. This milestone exhibition highlights the talent\, perspectives\, and creative evolution of Calgary’s photographic scene\, seen through the lenses of a selection of photographers who have helped shape and support it over the past three decades including\, George Webber\, Greg Fulmes\, Greg Gerla\, Jason Stang\, Jeff Bright\, John Dean\, Leah Hennel\, Maja Swannie Jacob\, Mark Vitaris\, Matt and Harry Palmer\, Mike Drew\, Steve Speer\, and\, Todd Korol.  \nThe images are presented side by side\, creating a visual narrative of time\, change\, and creative growth. The showcase highlights the diverse expressions of faith and creativity that have emerged within the community. \nThe title\, “Great Treasures of Gold\,” is inspired by a conversation between early pioneer Charles Card and Samuel Smith\, the brother of Joseph Smith\, Jr. Smith recalled a prophecy made in an 1843 priesthood meeting within the Nauvoo Temple\, in which it was stated that “[Canada] would never persecute the Saints as a nation. She would gather up great treasures of gold and yet we should seek refuge in her dominion.” \nThe phrase “Great Treasures of Gold” symbolizes not only the material wealth Canada was prophesied to gather\, but also the spiritual and cultural richness accumulated over more than a century of Latter-day Saint presence in the country. This exhibition pays tribute to the enduring artistic legacy that has flourished within this land of refuge.

DESCRIPTION:Building Blocks by Sean Drysdale\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nGallery Level 3\nOctober 7 – November 1\, 2025\n8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed Sundays) \n\n\n\nSean Drysdale returns to cSPACE with version 3 of Building Blocks\, an exhibition of large images. \n\nArtist’s Talk:  \nThursday\, October 16 | 5:30pm-7:45pm \nIn Attendance:  \n\nWednesday\, October 8 | 6-8pm\nSaturday October 25 | 1-3pm\nSaturday November 1 | 1-3pm\nOr by arrangement\n\nClosing Reception: \nThursday\, October 30 | 5:00-7:30pm \nAbout the Artist: \nSean Drysdale graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1984\, where he studied photography. Subsequent studies in mathematics and computers at Simon Fraser University led to a career in information management. \nHe returned to photography as an art form in 2016. By 2023\, he concluded that the world did not need another photographer. The label had always felt like a shirt occasionally worn but never entirely comfortable. Instead\, he began calling himself a wanderer—a description that felt far more fitting. To Drysdale\, this is a liberating and playful identity\, one that frees them from unhelpful personal expectations and existential questions such as what defines a “real” photographer.

DESCRIPTION:Exhibition: “Prairie Histories” by Corinne Cowell\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nGallery Level 3\nuntil May 5\, 2025 \nFrom the artist:\nThis ongoing series deals with narratives and memory as well as the environment and our place within it. A series of “prairie ghosts” speaks to the history and perseverance of family and struggle as well as the abandonment of those precious homesteads of the early 1900’s. These disturbed landscapes are fraught with memories\, long faded but still lingering. \nThe buildings\, straining to remain\, alone and resilient against the elements\, will ultimately disintegrate back into the landscape. This reclaiming by the land forms a series of mysteries\, offering a great depth for potential narratives. These are the stories I want to tell. \nThese pieces are made using my own photography\, which I transfer to the under painted surface.
