Upholding the motto “Sans jury ni récompense” (“No jury\, no awards”)\, the original exhibition was a bold statement against institutionalized art and authoritative selection processes. It sought to create an open platform where all artists could present their work without restriction. In the same spirit\, our Indépendants exhibition today embraces that tradition. Regardless of genre\, style\, or level of experience\, this space has been curated to allow artists to express their voices freely. Artists spent several days and nights exploring the lakes\, trails\, wildlife and spectacular views in Glacier National Park as part of the Art in the Park residency. \nPresented in partnership with Parks Canada and the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre\, this unique artist residency program has brought creators into Glacier National Park’s breathtaking Rogers Pass since 2008. The result is a powerful collection of work that captures the majesty\, solitude\, and spirit of the Selkirk Mountains. \nThese artists were granted rare access to explore the park’s lakes\, trails\, and wildlife—living\, hiking\, and creating in one of Canada’s most rugged and spectacular environments.
