Sky’s career has been long and varied in both art and design – from graphic design to lots of story telling as the Creative Director in the planning through installation of museums and visitor centres in Alberta\, B.C. and the Arctic. \nSky has operated a custom yardage screen printing studio\, instructed in the Textile Department at ACAD and is now Instructing with AUArts Continuing Education Department.* \n*AU/Arts bio: https://www.auarts.ca/sky-weir

DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Level 1\ncSPACE Marda Loop \nAs part of the Festival of Animated Objects \nWorlds in Motion delves into the interplay between art\, movement\, and imagination.\nFrom mechanical wonders\, handcrafted puppets and automatons\, this exhibition invites the viewers to engage\, play\, and create their own stories through the work of Rob Ward\, Pam Atkinson and Jenny Dale Stables. \nThe artworks are interactive\, tactile\, and transformative. They serve as conduits of emotions and metaphors that weave fantastic and whimsical narratives\, fostering a unique relationship between the audience and the artwork itself. In addition\, the incorporation of recycled materials adds a compelling dimension to this dialogue. By reimagining what might otherwise be discarded\, these artworks honor the potential for renewal and transformation. They challenge perceptions of waste and consumption\, positioning sustainability not just as an ethic but as a muse for innovation. \nIn other words\, Worlds in Motion is a convergence of resourcefulness\, sustainability\, and emotional resonance\, in an ever-evolving interplay that connects us to creativity itself. This exhibition highlights the dynamic rhythm of these creations\, transcending static existence\, they became pivotal agents of personal and collective expression.
