DESCRIPTION:Drawn: Mackenzie Kelly-Frère Opening Reception\nHosted by Alberta Craft Council\n______\n\nEveryone is invited to this free reception for Drawn – artist in attendance\n\n\nJoin the Alberta Craft Gallery in Calgary for the Opening Reception of Drawn\, an exhibition of handweaving by Mackenzie Kelly-Frère. \nMackenzie Kelly-Fhère is an artist\, educator and academic living in Mohkinstsis (Calgary). The exhibition examines cloth as a contextual object\, enmeshing ways of thinking and being in the natural world. Kelly-Frère draws on his lived experience of both the Canadian Prairie and a recent artist residency in Blonduos\, Iceland to create cloth that reflects situated materialities and our connections to place. \nThis is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend. You don’t need a ticket to attend. \nReception: Saturday\, September 13\, 2025 | 2 -4 pm \nAlberta Craft Calgary Gallery \ncSPACE – Marda Loop\, 2nd floor\, 1721 – 29 Avenue SW \nThe parking lot and accessible entrance are off 29 Avenue.
