DESCRIPTION:Hallway Gallery: When Time Forgets Us by Sir Winston Churchill High School Art IB Students\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nLevel 3 and 4 Gallery\nMarch 30 – April 10\, 2026\n8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed Sundays) \n  \nWhen Time Forgets Us showcases the work of seventeen graduating International Baccalaureate Visual Arts students from Sir Winston Churchill High School. Developed over two years of artistic inquiry and experimentation\, the exhibition features a diverse range of media and personal investigations that reflect each student’s unique creative voice. \nThrough drawing\, painting\, mixed media\, fibre arts\, and digital processes\, the artists explore personal themes and directions\, some of which include memory\, identity\, change\, and the passage of time. The exhibition invites visitors to experience thoughtful and compelling works that capture the curiosity\, reflection\, and growth of emerging young artists. \nOpening reception on April 2 from 5:30–7:30 PM in the RGO Treehouse. \n\n \n

Each photograph reflects a moment where she chose to slow down and stay awhile. The images carry a sense of history\, nostalgia\, and connection to the land. \nThis work speaks to the importance of the journey as much as the destination. It invites viewers to take their time\, notice what is often overlooked\, and find meaning in quiet\, everyday places. \n  \nAbout the Artist: \n  \nJennifer Gregoire was born and raised in Calgary\, but it wasn’t until she moved to a small rural town that her perspective began to shift. Life slowed down\, the sky felt bigger\, and she found herself drawn to the quiet places in between. \nHer work is rooted in time spent on the road. She explores backroads across Alberta\, stopping whenever something catches her eye. An old truck\, a weathered building\, or a stretch of highway that feels unchanged. What began as a way to explore gradually became a way of seeing and understanding the landscape around her. \nShe often jokes that she is a professional road-tripper\, but in many ways it’s true.

This April\, we’re pleased to host an important professional development opportunity presented by Spindle Films Foundation. \nJoin Javelin Laurence (they/them)\, an ICF-trained coach and multidisciplinary storyteller\, for Gender Diversity Training for Allies in the Film Industry. This in-person\, experiential workshop is designed to support cisgender professionals working across Alberta’s film industry in building the knowledge and practical skills needed to be effective allies to gender-diverse colleagues. \nThrough guided discussion\, hands-on exercises\, and real-world case studies\, participants will deepen their understanding of gender identity and gain confidence in navigating inclusive practices in the workplace. The session offers a supportive environment to ask questions\, practice using gender-neutral language and pronouns\, and explore best practices for fostering respectful and equitable collaboration. \nThis free training will take place on April 4\, 2026\, from 1:00–4:00 PM at cSPACE Marda Loop.
