She is currently working at the Alberta Craft Council as a gallery assistant\, and this is her first time showing her work in a public space. \nHer paintings are inspired by Victorian field guides\, and she focuses on mixing images of real-life specimens with her own tantasy creations inspired by playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends. SUMMARY:Teen Sew Summer Camp with Riyoko Work/Shop
DESCRIPTION:Come learn how to sew and start making your own projects!\nStudents will learn their way around the machine through various projects and gain the foundational sewing skills to translate into future projects for themselves. Students will learn how to read patterns\, how to use choose fabrics and patterns right for the projects they are making\, how to embellish and decorate their projects with hand sewing techniques\, and time permitting\, repair skills\, such as hems\, and repairing rips and holes in creative ways. They will make simple and functional projects like a drawstring backpack ( to hold all the things) and pajama pants. The skills of sewing can seem daunting\, but with the right instruction\, it can be fun and sew much easier than you think! \nThis camp runs Monday to Thursday. It is four 5-hour sessions.
