DESCRIPTION:New and existing art works by Dana Schindelka and Danielle Bartlette \nFloors 2 and 3 cSPACE Marda Loop\nOctober 31st – November 26th\nOpening for Invited Guests Only: Thursday\, November 5pm-8pm\nLive music- Gil Tougas 5:30-7:30pm \nUPDATE: Danielle Bartlette’s CORONORAMA solo exhibition is extended until December 2th on Level 3.  \nDana Schindelka is a Calgary based visual artist who uses mixed media to examine the relationship between recollection\, reality\, and imagination. Dana uses acrylic paint and other materials\, such as metal substrates\, collage\, metallic leafing and inks to create his art and his works have been the subject of gallery representation\, private\, and business collections. \nDanielle Bartlette was born and raised in Winnipeg\, where she attended the School of Art (Fine Arts Honours Program at the University of Manitoba). In 2000\, she moved to Calgary to further her experience as an artist and currently exhibits artwork for sale through local galleries. Her paintings are scattered in homes\, private & corporate collections around Canada\, USA\, and Europe. Danielle started her own business\, Neon Milkshake Art Studio\, in 2016 and has been facilitating art classes since 2007. \nDanielle says\, “METAL Firecrackers and the Electric Bling is a selection of works created by two artists who have creative similarities and respect for one another’s practice. We are each exhibiting new and existing works. My work will exhibit selections from past series\, as well as a number of works in a new series titled CORONARAMA (created 2020-2023) which reflects the mood\, describes events and is an emotional response to the pandemic\, at different times throughout the event. Dollar Store materials\, thrift store finds juxtaposed with top quality artist materials and 24k gold on canvas/ wooden substrates are often found in the mix.”\n \n\nTogether\, these two artists are showcasing works that will catch your eye with noisy prints and/or loud colours. DESCRIPTION:Reception: November 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00pm\nExhibition runs until November 6th\n4th Floor Cupola & Suite #435\, cSPACE Marda Loop \nYou are invited to join the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation’s studio resident\, Eve Johnson\, for the opening of her exhibition The World is a Woman\, The Woman is a Worker. This exhibition is the result of her residency in the CAAF studio—a mixed media project of fibre sculpture\, and multiple “thread paintings”. These pieces explore the relationship between the earth\, women\, and capitalism. \nEve Johnson is a visual artist living and working in Calgary. Born with disabilities\, she has been creating since the age of three. While taking college level art courses at the age of sixteen\, Eve realised that the art establishment was not a good fit for her. She soon found herself ousted from this setting and began creating independently. Over ten years\, she created simply for herself and received the label of “outsider artist”. Despite this\, Eve joined the National accessArts Centre in late spring of 2021. Since joining this institution\, Eve has had her work shown locally and internationally—as far away as Seoul\, South Korea.
